And is it just the ending that's different or...
does Catherine get multiple climaxes? ;)

I bought this game on sale for $40, played it for awhile, then put it aside to play Batman, then inFAMOUS, then Heavy Rain, then GoW collection, then GoW III, then Demon's Souls... Now, I have forgotten how to play it, so will have to start over. Oh, well. I won't be buying this edition anyway, because I don't know how much of the DLC I would play.

Read my comments again. Kinect doesn't track hands, but it knows that your hands are at the ends of your arms, so it tracks that. Developers could figure out ways to work around things, and i gave one example of how a developer could make Kinect track hand locations, but not wrist movement.

If it still doesn't make any sense to you, then go ahead and believe that i'm "pulling this stuff out of [my] butt," because no way I can say it would make sense to...

I haven't used Move myself, but i think the apparent lag is just because you see a more dramatic physical movement than pressing a button. The time delay between button press and response is not as easy to see as the physical space you move the controller in the same amount of time.

Sony has said that Move has a latency of 22ms, compared to 16ms for the dualshock. Considering most games have total latency around 100ms, the extra 6ms from the Move is pretty insignificant...

It looks like it might be a little awkward because you seem to have to turn past your target, then move the reticule back onto your target.

I'm really looking forward to Move, but have been a little concerned about this. Some previews have said it works well, but people will probably go back to the dualshock for shooters.

@jmare: The skeletal mapping software that comes with Kinect is confirmed to not track hands (i.e. wrist movements), but, after thinking a bit, i realized that developers could certainly create a solution to that. Perhaps by using the raw data from the 3D camera to track hour hands as objects, knowing their position at any given time by looking for something close to where your hand was in the last frame captured.

@ Bzone24: Kinect doesn't track your hands, but it does...

And even if it could, it would probably need to track at least the upper body in order to put those hands into a context.

I saw one report that an anonymous person who claimed to work at Sony said people really don't know what they were missing out on. The source said that not only was it way more comfortable that the Dualshock, but the sixaxis functionality worked better because the sensors were further apart.

Too bad people were more concerned about the looks of something you never look at, rather than giving it a chance.

I REALLY wish I didn't know this, but SuperTiger wrote that more faithfully to the original.

"I think that it all depends on the kind of experience that you want to build"? Does the skeletal mapping software support more than two? Yes or no? Certainly if a developer wants to support more than two, they can, but they might be limited to clever use of the RGB camera. I have seen one report that claims Dance Central does that, but nothing straight from the developer.

I could design a Kinect game that supports an unlimited number of players: everyone screa...

I'm not sure about "impulse" buy exactly, but you have it exactly right, I think. Several developers have said how easy it is to implement - Zipper said they had it up and running in SOCOM with just a couple people working for a few days - and uses very little system overhead. I think a lot of developers will throw in Move support, even just as alternative control schemes. More games will support Move, which will lead to more Moves selling, which will lead to more games suppo...

To Sony it's more about profits than how many units they sell. Any money you spend on advertising has to increase your sales at least enough to pay for the advertising.

Imagine this: they can produce a widget for $20, and they sell it for $25. If they spend $5M advertising widgets, then they have to sell one million more units just to pay for the advertising. If that advertising only results in 500,000 more sales, then the marketing department has lost the company mone...

When Sony announced the PS3, they revealed it with a new, very different controller that looked a lot more comfortable. They got criticized to no end for the "batarang" controller and bowed to the pressure by changing back to the traditional design.

Here is that (almost) new design.

Only the super rich will go out and buy a new TV just for 3D, but other people who are in the market for a new TV anyway will very likely look into it. I, for one, don't plan on upgrading my TV too soon, but when I do, I will definitely be looking at 3D.

Luckily for some of the people who are most looking forward to Kinect, they LIVE in a bubble.

The article mentions that all the demos units are located in areas enclosed by clear plastic. Plastic is opaque (not transparent) to infra-red. The Kinect system uses infra-red light for the 3D imaging. The camera cannot, therefore, see the crowds. Besides that, the software ignores anything beyond a certain distance, anyway.

The demo was being thrown off by the camera operator standing behind the couch. If you are playing at home, there very well may be people standing ...
